Australian Investors Association – National Conference

This week CFMG Capital General Manager, Andrew Thomson had the opportunity to attend the Australian Investors Association National Conference, where keen investors from all over the country gathered to take part in an intensive 4 day program of education and networking, with sessions from a variety of hosts and speakers.

The theme of the event was Boom, boom, boom…? Investing beyond the boom. What does an economy without a major stimulus boom mean for investors and what will be the growth drivers of our economy going forward?

There were over 20 exhibitors and presenters including CFMG Capital and it was a highly engaged and well educated audience throughout. Topics varied from international equities to various property asset classes, to local equities, investing in pink diamonds and so much more!

“On the whole, I felt it was a really positive experience as both an attendee and as a speaker. The AIA members in attendance were largely very active investors and I got the impression many are on the search for yield investments in the current market, which made the CFMG Land & Opportunity Fund a natural fit for many of them. It was also pleasing to see many of our existing investors in attendance and great to put a face to the name of many who I haven’t met before” Thomson said.

“As a keen investor myself, I found the entire conference very interesting and educational and certainly picked up the vibe that many of the attendees are experienced and avid investors who are very open to sharing their experiences and knowledge with their fellow AIA members, thus making the conference a fantastic event.”

Highlights were the Tuesday night Gala Dinner and the thoroughly entertaining closing presentation from Marcus Padley from Marcus Today. It was an engaging, educational and often times very amusing address and was warmly received by all in attendance.

CFMG Capital looks forward to the 2020 event already.
