But when we look beyond the headlines, the underlying fundamentals remain largely unchanged. Housing demand continues to exceed supply across Australia, particularly in Western Australia. Population growth remains strong, migration continues to add pressure to the housing market, and dwelling construction is still failing to keep pace with demand. While Perth’s market has cooled from the extraordinary conditions of the past two years, it remains one of the strongest-performing markets in the country.
